The Couples Bible Study group at Faith Lutheran is a group of 10 couples that meets once a month for a pot luck dinner and to discuss Christian topics and passages from the Bible. They also work as a care and support group for each other based on the strong friendships that have developed over the years. Each year the group selects an outreach fund raiser project to support a Christian area of need. In addition to the existing group we are always looking to expand the couple’s small group concept to support a variety of age groups and interests. If you are interested in hosting or joining the Couples Bible Study group please contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Faith Cares is a program that provides support for Faith members that are homebound either short term or long term. The Faith Cares team makes regular visits to members in need to offer support, provide communion and the opportunity to share prayer together. Additionally, they help with running errands, providing transportation for doctor appointments and assist in other ways that let homebound members know that that they are still an important part of the Faith Lutheran family.

In 1998, Janet Bristow and Victoria Galo, two graduates of the 1997 Women’s Leadership Institute at The Harford Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut gave birth to a ministry as a result of their experience in this program. The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a physical extension of God’s love.
Knitted or crocheted, prayer shawls, after having been blessed by the Pastor, are distributed to those in need of prayer due to illness or grief. Participation in this ministry extends beyond those making the shawls to those requesting them for family, friends or coworkers.
Since the initial blessing by Pastor Ronald M. Weryha on January 31, forty-three prayer shawls have been distributed to those in need. Participation in this program is not limited to Faith’s congregation but is extended to the whole community.
