Upcoming Events

Mid-Week Lenten Services Continue – April 10 – Noon,
Service of Word and Devotions, “We’re Marching to Zion”.

Palm Sunday – April 14, 2019 Palm Sunday’s liturgy begins with a palm procession, commemorating Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The tone of the service changes as we meditate upon Jesus’ passion and death. Because this story is so central to our faith, we hear Luke’s account of the passion on Palm Sunday and John’s version on Good Friday. Though Jesus is obedient even unto death on the cross, he is exalted by God. We gather to remember his offering for the life of the world, and to be fed by his life-giving mercy. Holy week will culminate in the celebration of the Three Days of Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection. We will gather outside, weather permitting, for the blessing of the Palms.

Holy Week at Faith Lutheran Church
Maundy Thursday Service – April 18, 2019 – 7:30pm

Easter Services – April 21, 2019
7:30am service begins outside with the lighting of the new fire and a procession into the Sanctuary and the 10:30am service is a festive Liturgy of the Resurrection with the Chancel Choir.
Easter Breakfast follows the early service. Breakfast reservation forms are included in the bulletins. Resurrection Egg Hunt too.

Special Announcements

Thought we would share this poem with the congregation, somewhat late but still wonderful to read. It was written by our own Reene Hobbs. Enjoy!

Are you coming to church this Christmas Season?
This Tree may help you find a reason…

I’ll tell you with these ornaments, the thing that our church represents:
1. Come join believers, who agree that,
Where we gather, He will be.
We pray and think of those we love;
As we send our messages above.
2. Our Heavenly Father is forgiving; we thank him for the joys of living.
In silent confession, all can share, the gifts of the Spirit, waiting there.
3. We ask God’s help for all in need, and sometimes take a turn to read.
Some usher, greet, and even bake, the “Bread of Life” that we partake.
4. Celebrations fill the hall, with food and fellowship for all.
Children craft, adults crochet; some bring instruments to play.
5. We come to sing out, clear and loud; hiding our “talents” in the crowd.
With each contributing their part; we make a place that warms the heart.
6. Bell choir, church choir, lessons taught; but also time for quiet thought.
For here, we witness new life blessed,
And faithful servants laid to rest.
7. Is there a better place to see: A Crèche and decorated tree,
With candles lit and scented pine, than in a church at Christmas time?
Reene Hobbs
